We are in search of an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to play a crucial role at our New Jersey location. This full-time, in-office position may entail some short-term travel. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing oversight of all engineering activities at the Hackettstown, NJ Office, and remote locations. This will involve tasks such as bid preparation, ensuring the quality assurance and quality control of work products, as well as monitoring project timelines and budgets. It is essential to be adept at managing multiple projects and teams of engineers simultaneously while effectively engaging with both the engineering staff and customers. Furthermore, expanding the current business through building new relationships and sustaining existing customer connections is a key aspect of this role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversight of all engineering activities and disciplines.
Preparation of bids and ensuring the quality assurance and quality control of work products.
Ensuring project timelines and budgets are met.
Management of several projects and teams of engineers concurrently.
Interface with engineering staff and AES customers.
Expansion of existing business through developing new business relationships and maintaining existing customers.
Oversight of recruitment of new employees at all experience levels.
Supervision of the development and growth of existing engineers.
Providing oversight of personnel to achieve specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) established with the Director.
Holding direct reports accountable for billability and optimizing resources based on project needs.
Support team growth through mentoring, support, and goal setting.
Develop specific personnel goals reviewed quarterly.
Maintain personal billability through project oversight.
Collaborate with the Director to achieve profitability goals, identify resource needs, and drive business development opportunities.
Track and maintain records of personnel performance.
Ensuring quality assurance and quality control controls for all projects are in place and utilized.
Identifying training opportunities for personnel based on goals and growth objectives.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree (Power Systems preferred) or equivalent technical experience.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in the electrical power industry (hands-on/field experience a plus).
At least 3 years of managerial experience with several direct reports.
Required Skills:
Generator paralleling controls experience using Woodward DLSC/MSLC type equipment.
Design of power control strategies for Tier 3 & 4 data centers
Experience with SCADA Systems and understanding technical specifications
Industrial networking experience - LAN experience with routers, bridges, switches etc.
Understanding of electrical/electronic schematics and interconnection diagrams
PLC/HMI programming experience
Siemens S7 and Emerson preferred
Excellent team player and communicator
Ability to train and work well with staff & customers.
Proficiency with computers using Microsoft programs, AutoCAD, project management software, etc.

Travel Requirements:
Able to travel periodically in the field for: Startup and troubleshooting systems and Development of remote engineering personnel.
Travel to trade shows and conferences.
Base Salary is DOE – Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent as well as 10+ years of Electrical Power industry and 3+ years of management is required. Must be able to work on-site in Hackettstown
